Baby-sitter fights off intruder with broom

Some homeowners use a gun or a knife or Mace to ward off intruders.
A woman baby-sitting in an Elgin home on Saturday night had a different weapon at her disposal: the handy and effective kitchen broom, police said.
"Ouch!" the intruder yelled, when the baby-sitter charged him and hit him in the arm with the broom after he had entered the home's kitchen and looked at her.
The man ran off, with the woman closing the kitchen door behind him.
