TRIATHLETES ARE BEING WARNED TO LOOKOUT FOR SHARKS
Folks in the Northeast are going to have to run, swim, and
bike in the Vineyard Warrior Triathlon at their own risk.
The organizers of the triathlon are warning all of the folks
who have entered that the swimming portion of the event could be dangerous.
Apparently, twelve great white sharks have been spotted in
the area in the last few weeks. Six were spotted over the weekend alone.
So far, 300 people have signed up for the event on Martha's
Vineyard.
MANURE TRUCK WITH NO BRAKES SLAMS INTO BUILDING
A manure truck heading downhill, with no brakes, plowed
through a building in St Albans, VA.
The driver's brakes went out and he started blaring his horn
and weaving in and out of traffic. He zipped between two parked cars and roared
across the busiest intersection in town without hitting anyone.
He ended up crashing into the vacant first floor of a
two-story building and he "went right through the entire building."
It looks like the driver intentionally rammed into the
vacant building to avoid hitting people in other buildings.
He was the only person hurt, and he was treated and released
from the hospital.
Workers spent most of the night loading the manure onto
another truck.
HILTON GUEST HOT OVER SEVENTY-FIVE CENT PAPER CHARGE...
HELLO! LAWSUIT!
A guest at a Hilton in California filed a federal
class-action lawsuit against the hotel chain for charging him seventy-five
cents for a newspaper he thought was free.
Since he didn't request the "USA Today", he
thought it was free. He said the fee was in extremely small font -- on the
sleeve of the room card.
The suit says, "The alleged consumer injury is
substantial, causing millions of guests at defendant's hotels to unwittingly
part with money for a newspaper they did not request and reasonably believed
was provided to them without charge."
